The completion of the impressive new church established a firm foundation for the future. Under the careful and diligent leadership of the Rev. 黄懋庭, and through the devoted work of women evangelists 洪瑞要, 陈淑美 and 林清美, the church’s ministries advanced actively and its finances gradually became more secure.

In 1938, the Rev. 邱清浩 established English-language worship services for members educated in English. He also devoted himself wholeheartedly to developing the English-speaking Youth Fellowship. Years of patient work brought considerable growth and raised up many capable members who later became pillars of the English-language church. Alongside his devoted evangelistic ministry, he contributed to education and social work, serving on the boards of several schools and helping to found 协和 School. His vision was to share the gospel through education.
Trinity Church1938: established (English-language Methodist Church)
When the Pacific War broke out in 1941, the southward advance of invading forces caused widespread fear. Many people moved to the outskirts to escape the fighting, and church activities became dormant. Activities resumed during the three years and eight months of occupation, but difficult external circumstances greatly restricted evangelistic work and little progress could be made.
